| Editions | File Manager Advanced · Advanced File Manager Pro ($) | WP File Manager · WP File Manager Pro ($) |
| Pros | Browse and edit site files from wp-admin; Role-based file permissions; Shortcodes page for embedding file managers | Upload, download, copy, move, rename and delete from the admin; Built-in code editor with syntax checking; Create and extract archives such as zip and tar; Trash for deleted files |
| Cons | Dropbox, OneDrive and other cloud storage need Pro; Front-end file lists need Pro; Uses Freemius for licensing and optional tracking | Gives full file access to admins, so weak admin accounts are a real risk; Pro edition adds role controls and cloud storage, according to the readme |
