| Editions | File Manager, Code editor, backup by Managefy | WP File Manager · WP File Manager Pro ($) |
| Pros | Browse, upload, download and organise files in wp-admin; File and database backup creation from the dashboard; Single menu for file manager, backups, database and settings | Upload, download, copy, move, rename and delete from the admin; Built-in code editor with syntax checking; Create and extract archives such as zip and tar; Trash for deleted files |
| Cons | File manager is rooted at the whole WordPress install; Top menu needs only edit_posts, so limit roles carefully | Gives full file access to admins, so weak admin accounts are a real risk; Pro edition adds role controls and cloud storage, according to the readme |
