Swiftype Search
400+ active installs · Rated 3.7/5 · Updated September 15, 2021
A plugin connecting a WordPress site to Swiftype Site Search, a hosted search service built on Elasticsearch. Content is indexed in the cloud and synchronised on save, with typo tolerance, synonyms, a dashboard for tuning relevance and search analytics. It suits organisations already using Swiftype. The plugin is free but needs a paid Swiftype account, and it has not been updated for several years, so its current status should be checked.
Pros
- Replaces the default search without changing the theme template
- Posts re-index automatically when saved
- Relevance tuning and search analytics in the Swiftype dashboard
Cons
- Needs a Swiftype Site Search account and API key
- Search runs on an external service, so results depend on its availability
- Last tested against WordPress 5.8 and not updated since 2021
