Vanilla Forums
100+ active installs · Rated 2.8/5 · Updated July 3, 2020
A plugin connecting a WordPress site to a Vanilla community forum. It can bring forum content into WordPress and use Vanilla as a replacement for native blog comments, so new posts and comments are mirrored in the forum. It suits sites that already run, or plan to run, a Vanilla forum. The plugin is free, but it needs a Vanilla forum, and it has not been updated for several years.
Pros
- Embeds the forum or replaces blog comments with forum threads
- Forum widgets for discussions, activity and active users
- Single sign-on through jsConnect
Cons
- Needs a Vanilla forum, hosted or self-hosted, to connect to
- Last tested with WordPress 5.3 per the readme
- Replaces native comments once a forum URL is set
