Accessibility New Window Warnings
1,000+ active installs · Rated 4.8/5 · Updated September 1, 2026
A small plugin that warns visitors before a link opens in a new window or tab. It automatically finds such links and adds a visual icon, a hidden text notice for screen reader users and a tooltip, helping people who might otherwise lose their way. It suits sites aiming to meet accessibility guidelines on predictable behaviour. There are no settings, and the plugin is free.
Pros
- No settings to configure
- Adds an icon, tooltip and screen reader text to new-window links
- Works with some plugins that load content by AJAX
Cons
