Relevanssi Live Ajax Search
7,000+ active installs · Rated 5.0/5 · Updated May 12, 2026
Adds live search results to WordPress search forms through an AJAX request, with results rendered from theme-overridable templates. It works with the default WordPress search and gets better results when Relevanssi is active. It suits sites that want instant search suggestions without much configuration. It is a free plugin with no paid edition, and the results depend on the templates and search it is paired with.
Pros
- Works with default WordPress search without configuration
- Results can be restyled through theme template overrides
- Uses Relevanssi automatically when it is active
Cons
- Some themes need template or CSS changes to look right
- Only the live results are improved; full search quality needs Relevanssi
- Few settings, so layout changes need code
