Better WordPress External Links
400+ active installs · Rated 5.0/5 · Updated June 10, 2014
Adds control over external links in post content, such as nofollow, opening in a new window, link icons and a domain filter that decides which domains count as external. It suits site owners who want consistent link handling without editing content by hand. It works only on content that goes through the_content, so links in other places are left alone.
Pros
- Nofollow and new-window options for external links
- Domain filter to decide what counts as external
- No external service calls
Cons
- Only processes content through the_content
- Options page is dense for a simple job
- Older framework code base
