Dashboard Notes
500+ active installs · Rated 4.7/5 · Updated March 10, 2026
A small plugin for placing notes and instructions inside the WordPress dashboard, typically for clients. Each note can have its own colour and optional logo, appear only on chosen admin pages, and be shown to selected user roles. It relies on the Classic Widgets plugin, as notes are built from widgets. It suits developers leaving guidance for clients. The plugin is free.
Pros
- Notes are plain classic widgets, so any text or HTML widget works
- Per-note colour, logo and page targeting
- Visibility can be limited by user role
Cons
- Requires the Classic Widgets plugin
- Does not work with the block-based widgets editor
