Smart Maintenance Mode
1,000+ active installs · Rated 3.2/5 · Updated April 16, 2025
A plugin that shows visitors a coming soon page while chosen users keep working on the real site. Access can be granted by user role, by your own IP address or by IP ranges, and the page can carry custom HTML, messages, images and a countdown to launch. It suits developers who need to share a site under construction with clients. The plugin is completely free.
Pros
- Custom HTML, messages and countdown on the maintenance page
- Role and IP range bypass for the live site
- No paid tier or external service
Cons
- Visitors see a page, not the site, while it is on
- Stores IP and role rules in a custom table and serialized options
