Mailster
7,000+ active installs · Rated 3.5/5 · Updated October 15, 2026
A self-hosted email newsletter plugin that creates, sends and tracks campaigns from WordPress, keeping the subscriber list in your own database rather than an external service. It includes signup forms, list management, templates and automated sending of posts and products. The WordPress.org listing is only a compatibility tester for checking hosting readiness. It suits owners wanting full data control. Mailster itself is a premium plugin sold as a licence.
Pros
- Server, PHP and mail checks in one admin page
- Clear pass, warning or error result for each check
- Free to run before buying Mailster
Cons
- Offers a Mailster licence purchase on the same page
- Downloads the paid Mailster plugin after checkout
- Only checks readiness, it is not the newsletter plugin
