Portfolio Post Type
40,000+ active installs · Rated 4.7/5 · Updated August 29, 2020
A plugin that registers a portfolio post type, with its own categories and tags, for storing portfolio items in WordPress. It does not change how items look on the site, so your theme needs templates to display them. It suits developers and theme builders who want portfolio content kept separate from the theme. The plugin is free, though it has not been updated for several years.
Pros
- Separate portfolio categories and tags
- Featured image column in the admin list
- Free with no paid edition
Cons
- Theme must supply archive and single templates
- Readme lists testing only up to WordPress 5.5
- Readme stable tag is 1.0.1 with no later release
