Intercom
5,000+ active installs · Rated 3.4/5 · Updated April 16, 2025
Adds the Intercom Messenger to every front-end page so visitors can chat with the business, and passes the logged-in WordPress user's details to Intercom. Setup takes an app ID and optional identity-verification secret on the settings page, and a one-click connect option is available. It suits businesses that already run Intercom for support or sales. It does nothing useful without an Intercom account, and the chat tools are sold separately on the Intercom site.
Pros
- Adds the Intercom Messenger to the site with an app ID
- Passes logged-in user details to Intercom
- Optional identity verification using a secret key
Cons
- Needs an Intercom account, which is a paid service
- The Messenger loads on every front-end page
- Visitor and user data goes to Intercom by design
